As Principal Creative Director at Entro, Udo Schliemann brings 39 years of experience — specialising in experiential design, including identity development, signage and wayfinding design. Udo’s unique approach combines artistic and poetic sensibilities to create powerful designs that elevate the everyday experience.
Udo’s work has focused on integrated signage programs, mostly for cultural institutions such as the National Arts Centre (Ottawa), the Weston Family Learning Centre at the AGO (Toronto), the ROM (Toronto, and currently for the Perelman Performing Arts Center (New York). His work has received awards from SEGD, RGD, Graphis, Applied Arts, Communication Arts, and the Red Dot.
A native of Germany, Udo was Studio Manager for Stankowski+Duschek, one of Germany’s leading design firms, before coming to Canada in 1999, when he joined Gottschalk + Ash, later acquired by Entro. He served as Chairman of the 2011 SEGD Conference in Montreal, and, in 2017, Udo was elected to become a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
