Form and feeling: artists’ studies of the twentieth century 

The experience is designed to be quick yet considered, an intentional pit stop for a coffee within the high pace of the day. The predominantly standing layout supports spatial flow, guiding the audience directly to the bar and into the view of the barista's coffee-making process. Subtle pull-out ledges along the counter offer brief moments of pause, supporting a grab-and-go intention whilst still allowing space to linger, but not to overstay.


The vertical timber introduces soft movement, texture and tactility to the cafe, highlighting an earthy presence within an urban context. This is balanced by a layered lighting approach whereby focused task lighting highlights the precision of coffee making, complemented by warm ambient tones to enhance the timber surfaces. Ultimately, creating a calm, inviting atmosphere within the hustle of the day.
