Set on the historic Port Adelaide waterfront, Colac Hotel retains its industrial character while introducing a refined contemporary layer. The original structure and raw materiality anchor the design, allowing heritage details to remain central to the venue’s identity.


Inside, the space unfolds through a series of contrasting environments, from intimate, low-lit areas to more open, social settings. Colac Hotel places a strong emphasis on curated artworks, with lighting carefully orchestrated to elevate the gallery-like quality of the interiors. Spatial hierarchy is reinforced through focused illumination that draws the eye to key artefacts on the walls. Specialised Framers are used to create a glow-from-within effect across the paintings, enhancing their depth and making the artworks feel illuminated from inside the frame.
